a little more about me
The way I think about community, stability, and what people actually need from the places they live — a lot of that traces back to 2014 and what my mom went through. Cancer. The opioid dependency that came with treating it. Bankruptcy. The long road back to independence. It was one of the hardest seasons our family walked through, and it quietly shaped everything that came after.
01: We found this home right around the corner from Downtown Munford for sale on craigslist
02: Bought it for $10,000
03: Put $15,000 into it with the help of our good construction friend, Jerry.
04: And she lived there for the final 6 years of her life with pride.
A $10,000 house on Craigslist gave my mom her dignity back. That's when I understood that our physical environments don't just shelter us, they can restore us. And that opportunities for value creation are all around us hidden behind layers of hard work.
I’m someone that needs goals. “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there” - Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland
I’m a connector. I may sit back to take things in, but in my mind I’m figuring out what is the first domino that needs to fall before letting loose all other aspects to bring a problem to resolution.
I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. Each person has strengths and when in the right group and in the right seat, they will shine. That doesn’t mean that your group is the right group for everyone.
I believe that there are win-win solutions to everything. If someone or something has to lose, the problem isn’t actually solved.

Finding peace in everyday moments is what I work toward; within my family, my team, and the work that we do for others as well as for our own community. Building is hard and the world doesn't slow down, but this is the hard I'd choose every time. The calm amongst the chaos is worth it.
